A-PAD Korea Forges Partnership with A-PAD SL in Reviving Education Amidst COVID-19

May 23, 2021

Sri Lanka, a nation that is currently witnessing the 3rd outbreak of the Corona Virus has yet again entered restrictions in the activities of its people with partial lockdowns and stringent health regulations. A severe implication of this imposition is the stalling of education for children resulting in distance learning and other alternate methods. However, the safety aspect of the children during these difficult times cannot be compromised, especially given the social and economical backgrounds of many vulnerable people. Identifying this gap, A-PAD Korea partnered with A-PAD SL in distributing COVID-19 wellness packs to 2500 deserving children. Packs are inclusive of face masks, portable sanitizer bottles and face shields.

A-PAD SL reached out to the Janatha Estate Development Board (JEDB) in seeking access to children belonging to the estates and plantation lands under their jurisdiction in order to promote their safety and security. Upon confirmation, an official handing over ceremony was organized by the Janatha Estate Development Board (JEDB) with the presence of its leadership and senior management for the dissemination of these items to the respective locations for immediate distribution in keeping with the COVID-19 health regulations.

We would like to thank A-PAD Korea for this timely intervention and benevolent gesture towards the children of Sri Lanka!

Mr. Firzan Hashim, Country Director of A-PAD SL ceremonially handing over the items to Mr. Buwaneka Abeysuriya, Chairman of Janatha Estate Development Board (JEDB) with the presence of its senior management.
