COVID-19 Response & Recovery

The Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) shook the global village in its entirety with over six million lives lost and over five million active reporting cases. The early part of the year 2020 saw A-PAD Sri Lanka called upon to engage in a global response to the city of Wuhan where the virus came to life. Through global and public-private-partnership the platform successfully channeled through PPEs and soon after Sri Lanka fell prey to the virulent spread and its many variants even as of present.

The Sri Lankan platform continues to support the in-country needs by harnessing local resources as well as international assistance not only in response but also in recovery phases, addressing the lacunae of several implicated sectors. While prioritizing the health, hygiene and wellness of communities, the platform also ventured into supporting the education of children deprived of distance learning, strengthening private sector entities as well as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in upscaling businesses and reviving the local supply chain and economy
