The Connecting Business initiative honoured at A-PAD Global Event in Tokyo, Japan
The Connecting Business initiative (CBi) was recognized for its continuous commitment towards enhancing global partnerships through international exposure, knowledge sharing and increasing global connectivity of local platforms at the Asia Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management Forum held in Tokyo, Japan. The certificate of appreciation was officially handed over to Mr. Kareem Elbayar, Programme Coordinator of the CBi Secretariat by Mr. Firzan Hashim, Country Director of A-PAD Sri Lanka. The handover took place at the CBi Regional Workshop for Asia and the Pacific held in Bangkok, Thailand. The CBi Secretariat expressed their appreciation towards A-PAD noting to “look forward to continuing to work together for the next decade and beyond”.
The CBi was established by UN OCHA and the UNDP to promote strategic engagement with the private sector in preparation and response for emergencies. A-PAD recognized CBi as a valued partner who supports both crisis response and development efforts of A-PAD by integrating and strategically engaging with the private sector in Disaster Management thereby providing A-PAD with the additional capacity to enhance and advocate for business resilience.
