A-PAD Search and Rescue 2022 – CPR Training 2

Jul 14, 2022

The Asia-Pacific Alliance for Disaster Management (A-PAD) Sri Lanka carried out the another CPR Training course for private sector representatives on the 14th of July, 2022. The training was held in collaboration with Sri Lanka Life Saving (SLLS), under the A-PAD Search and Rescue (SAR) initiative.

17 representatives from the private sector were provided extensive CPR and critical life-saving training in order for them to be fully prepared to deal with particular occupational hazards. The participants were educated on how to perform CPR on adults, children and infants, how to assess the danger of the situation and what further actions need to be taken. Further to this, participants were also educated on the ethics of CPR, how to attend to a choking and drowning victim, as well as being trained on how to use recently developed CPR technology, such as the AED Defibrillator.

A-PAD facilitates these CPR Training courses with the overall objective to sensitize and ensure that all the participants involved can provide vital assistance in the event of any disaster, occupational hazard or community emergency. Once the participants had completed the training programme, they were awarded an internationally recognized license and certification.
