A-PAD SL Teams Up with Pearl Protectors and University of Colombo to Support Sirasa–Shakthi Sahana Yathra
Sri Lanka is affected by severe floods and landslides brought on by Cyclone Ditwah, leading to significant displacement and restricted access to many areas. Communities are turning to emergency shelters and relief services as the situation escalates across various districts.
In a strong display of unity and compassion, Team A-PAD, together with volunteers from Pearl Protectors and University of Colombo, joined hands with the Sirasa–Shakthi Sahana Yathra campaign, a flood relief distribution project led by MTV Networks, to prepare and dispatch dry ration packs to safety centres across the country. Volunteers worked tirelessly to sort, pack, and ready essential supplies, ensuring affected families receive timely support during this critical period.
Relief packs are being delivered through air drops and boat transport to reach communities where roads remain inaccessible, enabling help to reach even the most isolated areas. This campaign has brought together civil society groups, youth volunteers, and everyday citizens in a powerful demonstration of community strength.
