Cyclone Ditwah – Joint Rapid Needs Assessment

The Rapid Needs Assessment (Phase 1) provides an initial, data-driven overview of the humanitarian impact of Cyclone Ditwah across Sri Lanka, highlighting the scale of flooding, displacement, infrastructure damage, and sectoral disruptions. Combining satellite analysis, secondary data, and expert inputs, the assessment outlines immediate priority needs in shelter, WASH, food security, health, protection, and education. These preliminary findings will guide urgent response decisions and inform more detailed field assessments in the next phase.
