A-PAD Korea on a mission to uplift disaster affected communities
A-PAD Korea visited Sri Lanka to conduct a survey in order to implement a community development project in a disaster affected area. Their aim was to enhance the existing businesses in a previously disaster affected region by means of tourism. A-PAD-SL chose Kuchchaveli town in the district of Trincomalee as it has not only been devastated previously by the tsunami but continues to experience the harsh effects of the drought. Thus on their survey visit to Sri Lanka, A-PAD -SL arranged for meetings with tourist experts to engage in consultation and connected this team with, Tourism Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka Association Of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO) and International Air Transport Association – Agents Association Of Sri Lanka / Travel Agents Association Of Sri Lanka (IATA-AASL / TAASL) who are members of the platform who would be able to enlighten the team with regard to their project.
