World Conference on Drowning Prevention-2021 event launch held in Sri Lanka

The “World Conference on Drowning Prevention” (WCDP) is held once in two years to build an international platform to decrease drowning and drowning related deaths in the world. It is reported that Sri Lanka has progressed well in the sphere of Drowning Prevention and Water Safety related activities as a leading nation, specifically in Asia Pacific. Following a very stringent selection process, International Life Saving granted permission to Sri Lanka Life Saving (SLLS) to hold the event from 08th to 10th October 2021 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The official preset of this event was held on the 26th of September under the patronage of H.E David Holly, High Commissioner for Australia in Sri Lanka and Mr. Norman Farmer, President of International Life Saving Federation Asia Pacific Region amongst many other participants from the Ministry of Disaster Management, Ministry of Sports, TriForces, members of Life Saving Victoria, Media, A-PAD Sri Lanka and specialists from the fraternity. The event also saw the launch of the official website designated for the World Conference on Drowning Prevention as well as a panel discussion on the multiple stakeholders who are involved, representing diverse sectors/ industries.
